There are many different tricks and tips that decorators use to spruce up and refresh the look of a bedroom, and the secret is that you dont have to spend a fortune to get a luxury look for your boudoir. Creating rooms that are alive with taste and elegance can be not only easy but also cheap. The trick is to spend some time in different areas doing some research before you purchase anything for your home.

First of all for best results you will want to start from scratch with your soon to be luxury bedroom. Spend some time looking through magazines and websites that are dedicated to interior decorating to get some fresh ideas that do not piggyback off of what is already in your room. From the bedding to the little accessories to wall hangings and paintings, youll want to carefully select each and every piece that goes into your new room. Be realistic with a budget that you have constructed for yourself, and do not underestimate the power of resale stores and bargain shops.

Do take a good look at the furnishings that are already in your room. Are they damaged beyond repair (is your bed held up on one side with books) or are little adjustments and fixes possible? If you are able to paint or patch things to repair them or even to give them a fresh new look, by all means, go for it. Take a look at your bed there. One of the new trends is to use fabric on headboards to spice them up and give them a contemporary look. Another interesting trend is to use slates of decorated wood that actually are screwed into the wall above the bed instead of a traditional headboard that is attached to the frame.

Another simple fix is to take a look at your curtain rods. Even though many people use the white, plain metal ones that sell for about $3, they are not the most luxurious of things in a bedroom. Fancy curtain rods can be really expensive, so this is the perfect time to go to those garage sales and resale stores. A good tip is to make sure you measure your window before you shop, because even the expandable curtain rods are not able to accommodate every size possible.
If you have a soon to be luxury bedroom that is small, that lacks windows, or doesnt have enough natural light coming into it, feel free to paint the room but remember that light tones and colors will make the room appear brighter and larger. Leaving the ceiling white will also help a lot, giving the illusion of a higher ceiling that will reflect light much better than a dark painted ceiling.

Placing a rug on the floor can add a lot of character to your new luxury bedroom, even if you have carpeting in there already just be sure that you carefully think about every single thing that will be in the room and make sure that it flows with everything else well.
