There are still plenty of people that have a country cabin that they use to get away to as often as they can. You might not think that you will want a cabin to have the Internet, satellite television, or even a phone, but you should be realistic about all of that. It might be great to be in the outdoors during the day, but you also have to plan for the times when it is dark or it might be raining and outdoor plans have to be put on hold, especially if you are on vacation for a week or two straight. Of course, you will need a phone and sometimes cell phone connections can be a little tricky so you will want to make sure you can get service on your cell.
If you cannot get good cell service where your cabin is located, this is when having satellite Internet service will be handy. If you do not have a conventional land line telephone, the Internet can now provide you with this service too. You never know when an emergency will happen and you have to be able to make contact with the outside world.
As to the television, you will have times when you will want to just relax. Perhaps lie on the sofa or your bed and just chill out for a while. Listening to the birds chirp and the night owls might be entertaining for a while, but being a city person for the most part, you might get bored with that rather quickly, especially if you have kids with you. Just because you are going to the great outdoors for a while does not mean you have to revert back to caveman days.
You want your get away place to fulfill your needs for rest and relaxation, but there are some things that you probably do not really want to go without like good furniture, phones, televisions, and Internet service are likely to be four of them. These services can be obtained almost anywhere you go these days in one way or another, so you might as well have them just in case you want to or have to be inside for a while.
