There are a variety of different uses for power washers, but to get the most out of your own power washer, you will need to purchase a good one. Power washers are far more powerful than your typical garden hose, and they actually use less water as well. Of course, before you run right out there to purchase one of your own, you’ll want to know what to look for, so here is an easy buying guide to help you make sure you purchase the right one for you.

What Will You Be Cleaning?

One question to think about is what will you be cleaning with your power washer? Are you going to do dog kennels, your home, the grill, a car, the driveway, or something else? Different things you want to clean may require different things from a power washer, so you need to consider what you want to clean, and then purchase a power washer that will do that job for you.

When Will You Be Using It?

When and how often are you going to be using the power washer that you buy? If you are going to use it on a regular basis, then you will need to make sure you get one that will be very durable and long lasting. However, if it is something you only plan on using every once in awhile, then you won’t need something that is quite as expensive.

Do You Need Hot Water?

Are you going to be doing cleaning jobs with the power washer that requires hot water? If so, you’ll need to go with a different type of power washer for your needs. However, you are going to pay more for a power washer that has hot water. If you don’t need the hot water, you’ll save a lot of money by going with power washers that only provide cold water, although they may not be as effective for some types of cleaning.

Is Mobility Important?

Do you need to be able to easily move the power washer around? If so, you need to go with something that is light enough that you can easily move it around while you are cleaning. If you are cleaning indoors, then something that is electric is a great idea, but you should never use gas powered options indoors, since they can put out carbon monoxide. Use the gas options outdoors if you decide to go with this option in a power washer.

How Much Storage Space Do You Have?

Also ensure that the power washer you choose can be stored easily in the area you have. Some power washers are bigger than others and may require more storage space. If you don’t have much storage space, you may need to go with something smaller.
