Showing You Care With E-cards And Artistic Cards

Sallywags (http://www.sallywags.com/) sell artistic cards. Art Gib is a freelance writer.

We’ve all been a part of the time-honored tradition of giving a card to someone to celebrate a holiday, birthday, or other special occasion. And we’ve all had the experience of standing for an hour in the card aisle, trying to find that perfect card that says what you would like to express. With so many cards available, choosing the right one can be difficult. And for some, rifling through all of the cards available is fruitless, and they find nothing that they like.

So card-giving comes with its share of challenges for senders, and if they don’t do their job right, they basically waste their money. Too many cards are given and are unappreciated by the recipient. Maybe they didn’t like the joke, or maybe they couldn’t read the fancy script, or they thought it was insincere. There are many ways cards could miss the mark, and they too often wind up in the trash bin soon after being opened. And with cards costing around seven dollars, that’s a lot of money going to waste.

But as frustrating as getting and receiving cards may be, we just can’t stop giving then. What would our mothers say if they didn’t receive a card on Mother’s Day? At the very least, cards show that we put forth some effort to show those we care about that we’re thinking of them. So since we’re stuck with the obligation of still giving cards, exploring different options for card-giving is the next step.

For those on a budget who don’t want to spend the money to give a card that will go unappreciated, sending an e-card can be great idea. An e-card is a greeting card sent via e-mail. There are several advantages to sending e-cards, the biggest one being that many of these cards are free, and the ones that aren’t free, usually only cost about a dollar. Another advantage to e-cards is that there are usually a wider variety of types of cards to choose from. You can find an e-card for any occasion, including holidays (of any religious type), birthdays, anniversaries, pregnancies, bar mitzvahs, baptisms, as well as cards for everyday occasions or just because.

And because of the wider selection of cards, you can more easily find a card that meets your particular tastes and preferences. Also, sending e-cards is much easier and much more convenient than sending regular cards. You can do it in five minutes while on your lunch break. E-cards are also good options for those who have trouble planning ahead. Instead of buying and sending a card days before the occasion, you don’t have to worry about sending the card until the day of the event, because e-cards are sent and received almost instantaneously.

Of course, there are some drawbacks to e-cards. Perhaps the biggest downside is that they may give the recipient the impression that the sender is cheap. But with the growing popularity of e-cards, people are starting to send and receive e-cards without too much thought. But in some cases, you may want to put for the extra effort to send an actual card.

And of course, there are some occasions for which e-cards are not always appropriate. For instance, thank-you cards should almost always be sent through the regular mail, since you’ll want to be sure that you card expresses your gratitude as sincerely and as thoughtfully as possible.

Of course, e-cards aren’t the only alternative to regular greeting cards. There are also a variety of artistic cards that are perfect to send to those you care about. Artistic cards may be a little more expensive than regular cards, but they are vastly more appreciated than other types of cards.

Of course, artistic cards are great for those who appreciate art, but they are also good for those who like to express their personalities when giving cards. Instead of being easier to find and send, like e-cards, finding artistic cards can be more difficult, but the cards become more like gifts, and not just greeting cards. And there are a variety of different artistic cards to choose from.

Artistic cards can simply be reprints of famous art pieces that you know the recipient would like. Famous painters and sculptors from the past and present can help deliver the message you want to send.

Other artistic cards are hand crafted and incorporate a variety of different materials. Some cards are decorated with dried flowers and plants, dyed cloth, and layers of silk. Other cards feature original sketches or abstract drawings.

And don’t rule out the possibility of creating your own artistic cards. My own sister is famous for her artistic cards that usually feature ribbons and buttons in a variety of simple and classy patterns. The extra effort that you put into creating or finding an artistic card pays out in the end, as the recipient is more likely to appreciate and keep the card.

In most cases, artistic cards are blank, and the message has to be completely created by the sender. This may put more pressure on the sender, but it allows people to completely personalize their cards, not only in style, but also in the message inside.

E-cards and artistic cards are two alternatives to sending regular greeting cards, both with different advantages and disadvantages. No matter if you want to send a card that truly shows you care, or if you just need to send a card quickly and cheaply, you can find a way to send a message to your loved ones on special occasions that will please both you and the them. We may not be able to get out of the obligation of sending cards, but by exploring the alternatives you can have a little more fun giving cards.
