Recently I sent my son off to Clear Creek for his 5th Grade adventure over the summer. We were packing up his stuff and getting everything together. Of course, one of the things he has to take is a blanket. Then it hits you. His favorite blanket is a blanket he has had for years (probably clear back to a baby) and it has a Disney character on it and it probably wouldn’t be too cool to send it with him to Clear Creek to meet new friends. That is when you realize they are growing up and it might be time to move up to something else and new.
Each of us have those secret comforts in our own room or home. Now, you are getting ready to go off to college and are going to have roommates and it is one of those times again in your life that you have to decide if it is time to upgrade your comfort or stick with what you have had for 20 years. What a perfect opportunity to make a new start. You can shop around for dorm room bedding. This can be fun. You can broaden your wings and look at all of the different options for dorm room bedding.
I bet you have no idea what is out there and what the choices are. You can start with what are your favorite colors. Whether it is the bright colors or the neutrals or dark colors the choices are endless. Then there is the consideration of whether you are a girl or a guy. Do you want paisleys, flowers, sports, checkered or a solid color? You might think that is all there is to it for considering what your options are, but no. There are other things to consider. What type of fabric do you want for your dorm room bedding? Do you want cotton? Do you want satin? Do you want a mix or something that is really easy to throw on your bed and not get wrinkled? Do you want something soft or something stiff?
Whether you like to shop or not this can be an exciting venture to help kick off the beginning of your dorm days at college. Remember, you can still keep that secret comfort, but dorm room bedding can be a great start to having a fresh bed when you are tired from all of the college classes and socializing.
